We stopped for lunch at a very comfortable rest stop that overlooked an arm of Lake Shasta. Shasta was very full last summer, and houseboats, such as the one seen in the picture, were everywhere. Many had smaller boats tied alongside for fishing, water skiing, and any other recreational activities that one can think of.
