About an hour out of San Francisco, near the town of Concord lies Suisun Bay. Here is found what is called the mothball fleet. Old ships are stored here before a determination is made as to their fate. Many Liberty ships from World War II can still be found here. Several years ago, Howard Hughes' famous salvage ship, The Glomar Explorer, spent it's last years in Suisun Bay. It is an historically prominent place, and worth visiting.
